Huffington Post suggests Mark Zuckerberg should have worn the Pinstripe Hoodie by Betabrand. It’s just like a mullet - business in the front, but a party in the back.

No matter what your past has been, you have a spotless future.

Ahh, libraries and bookstores - they’re my refuge. When I was in elementary school I used to love the days when we would go to the library and I would get to sift through the card catalogs looking for my next book. And nothing could beat school book fairs.

I hate to admit that over the past few years reading for fun has fallen by the wayside. When I went back to grad school, I felt so overwhelmed reading textbooks and case studies that I just didn’t feel like picking up a novel. Finally, I’ve gone back to my favorite hobby, but I have to admit it takes me awhile to select what I want to read next. Sure, Amazon has their recommendation engine, but it’s getting tougher to cut through the clutter. Instead, I’ve been turning to GoodReads, a site dedicated to bookworms.

Thumbs Up: Organize your books into “Read”, “Currently-Reading”, and “Want to Read”. Explore community lists like “Middle School Classics” or if you’re in a more emo mood, check out “Best Dysfunctional Relationships”.

Thumbs Down: I haven’t found much I dislike on the site other than realizing that I need to step up my reading.

What are you reading now? Take a peep at my list on Goodreads.

It’s Friday the 13th. Coincidence that the lights are off in our office?

Jason Fried, co-founder of 37signals and co-author of Rework, has an interesting comparison of work to sleep when thinking about why stretches of uninterrupted time are important.

“[S]leep and work are phase-based, or stage-based, events. So sleep is about sleep phases, or stages … There’s five…

LinkedIn's CardMunch App
I’m an aspiring minimalist, although you wouldn’t know it from the growing number of boxes taking over my office this month.

I’ve been trying to minimize the amount of paper I keep, especially business cards. Although I’ve been eyeing a NeatScanner for some time, I found LinkedIn’s Cardmunch app and wanted to give it a test. You take a picture of the business card using your iPhone and hit submit. Then, Amazon’s Mechanical Turks go through and digitize the business card for you.

Thumbs Up: Great concept – once the business card is loaded, it will match and link the contact’s information to LinkedIn. You can also enter notes through your iPhone’s address book like ‘hot lead’, ‘met at a conference’, etc.

Thumbs Down: When I originally wrote this post, the transcription process was taking longer than what Cnet’s bloggers posted. I uploaded two cards: one card took 5 days, and another card was sitting in my queue for two weeks (my guess on the second card is that it’s a transparent business card and is tough to read). The turnaround on my most recent uploads was much faster.

LinkedIn’s CardMunch app is a free download from iTunes. How do you keep your business cards organized?
